Great Work Week

It was a busy work week and yet it was great. I had several meetings and I would say a number of feasible projects. And I'm enjoying, yes I am! At long last, pagkatapos ng mahabang pagmumuni-muni :), I finally got what I wanted. To keep myself busy and productive without a bit of stress! Maybe because I love what I'm doing.. or maybe it's still too early for me to say this? :) Ok, ok.. I bet my friends will just shrug their shoulders with the thought that I love my new job.. again.. for the nth time. They're probably preparing their bets! ;)

Work is like love, it's hard to find your exact match. It's also like math, has lotsa trials and errors. Hep hep, I know these statements of mine will raise eyebrows, but those are just opinions. We develop our love for our work, the more we stay in a company, the more we should get attach to our jobs, the more we should love what we're doing (though it doesn't usually happens). And if we don't feel the hots or the fire anymore, if we feel that our work is already a cycle, a routine, then we have to assess ourselves. Is there something wrong? Do I still fit in? Am I still happy with what I'm doing? And if things still don't work out right, then we just have to let go. It's really like a relationship, right?

But time is the biggest factor here.. we cannot just look for a job, get a job, enjoy all the perks, then let go after some time. We have to end the cycle. How? Just like in any relationships, if we feel that we're ready to commit.. then we get married. And we live with it. And we stay happy with that commitment.

And I'm proud to say that I am happy now -- both with work and love.

Few Bucks Lunch

I had ginataang tilapia for lunch plus my favorite C2 lemon green tea.. and guess what? I just spent fifty-five bucks! Whoah! Plus I can still take a nap after (ala government employee hehehe) since the lunch place I was talking about is our basement cafeteria, few steps away from my work place.

Gleng! I can save a lot here. Yey! Extra shopping moolah! ;)

After Effect

I had a great badminton game with my colleagues last night at Smashville, just across Meralco-Ortigas. Unfortunately, I need a pain reliever now, aching muscles all over... Aaaarrgh! :-/

Burrrpy Sunday

I'm so full, I can't sleep with this burpy feeling. I need to stay awake for a while.. so here I am.. spending some time again with my notebook and what else is new, blogging! :) Ok, so nothing unusual happened today.. ooops, there's one! I was with my family (as in kumpleto all members of the family hehehe) and DM a couple of hours ago, joy ride, looking for some available lots in Filinvest and nearby areas. My family and I are planning to move to a new place, not so urgent though, just planning. Anyway, we had lotsa kwento's as usual.. and never ending halakhak's and hagikgik's again.. and d' famous Tiya Pusit laugh of mommy hehehe.. really funny! :)

After our long search (serious! ;D), we felt that we need to have a break. So we had a feast errr.. I meant dinner at Sea Side, Baclaran after consuming all our energy on no-pause-chatting and every-two-seconds-laughing.. :)

I'm on a diet, you guys gotta believe me! :)

How can I resist these?!?

Anyway, I have a badminton sched on Tuesday, I hope that will help. ;) If not, I just hope DM still loves me even with excess pounds. :D Whateverrrr!

Gotta sleep now, I guess I'm just over reacting. Eating lots once in a while wouldn't hurt... I just hope so. ;) I need to do some exercise this week and I should include this in my weekly plan. Ok, badminton on Tuesday, maybe jogging on Wednesday! Oraaaayt! I'm excited! Goodluck to me! :D

Amazing Facts

I'm in the mood for some trivias now.. maybe because of the weather! :) I'm a bit lazy to go out since it's raining hard and I don't wanna sleep.. so here, online and blogging! :) Since there's nothing much activities these days, I decided to share some amazing facts, maybe useful, maybe nonsense.. just do bear with this mood o' mine, ok? :) So, here goes...

-- What is called a "French kiss" in the English speaking world is known as an "English kiss" in France. (well.. life is really full of twists..)
-- In 1386, a pig in France was executed by public hanging for the murder of a child. (was the pig given a chance to at least get a lawyer?)
-- A cockroach can live several weeks with its head cut off! (why can't they just glue their heads back so they will live longer.. hehehe)
-- Human thigh bones are stronger than concrete. (maybe that's why there are thieves in cemeteries, maybe they're building their houses... eeewww!)
-- You can't kill yourself by holding your breath. (and who would do that?)
-- Right handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people. (Yey! I'm right handed!)
-- The elephant is the only mammal that can't jump! (good Lord if Dumbo can jump!) :)
-- Most dust particles in your house are made from dead skin! (eeewwwiiee!)
-- Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian, and had only ONE testicle. (nyaaaah!)
-- Months that begin on a Sunday will always have a "Friday the 13th."
-- Coca-Cola would be green if colouring weren’t added to it. (I won't drink a green Coke!)
-- Earth is the only planet not named after a god.
-- It's against the law to burp, or sneeze in a church in Nebraska, USA. (so.. one shouldn't go there after eating..)
-- You're born with 300 bones, but by the time you become an adult, you only have 206. (and why is that?!?)
-- Some worms will eat themselves if they can't find any food! (isn't that disgusting?) :P
-- Dolphins sleep with one eye open! (walang pakialamanan, oki?)
-- It is impossible to sneeze with your eyes open (I'll try my best to sneeze next time without closing my eyes, goodluck to me!) :)
-- Queen Elizabeth regarded herself as a paragon of cleanliness. She declared that she bathed once every three months, whether she needed it or not. (aaarrghh!)
-- Owls are the only birds who can see the colour blue. (lucky owl!)
-- A giraffe can clean its ears with its 21-inch tongue! (so.. giraffes are great kissers! hahaha)
-- Chocolate can kill dogs. Chocolate affects a dog's heart and nervous system; a few ounces are enough to kill a small dog. (beware dog lovers out there.. poor dogs, they can't eat chocolates.. tsk tsk tsk..)
-- A kiss lasting one minute can burn more than 100 calories. (hmmm.. good idea!) :D
-- Buckingham Palace in England has over six hundred rooms.
-- There was once an undersea post office in the Bahamas. (how odd!)
-- After the death of Albert Einstein his brain was removed by a pathologist and put in a jar for future study.

So there you go.. keep wond'ring! :)

If Only

I just got home from a movie date with DM. We watched "If Only" starring Jennifer Love Hewitt as the musician girlfriend of the workaholic and insensitive Paul Nicholls. I hope I wasn't a bit carried away with my description of "Ian" played by Paul Nicholls. This movie is really touching and moving. It moved me a few times and so was DM. :)

I thought it was a typical love story with a happy ending when I saw the movie poster but it's unbelievably not. The writing and directing were impressive or maybe because I wasn't expecting that much from this movie. Bottomline is, this film won me over. Two thumbs up!

And of course watching this film with DM made me realize again, for the nth time... that life is too short.. and as the saying goes, if we love someone, show him or her that we truly do and that we appreciate him or her and everything he or she does. For all we know, it will be too late for us to notice that we lost them... tsk tsk tsk.. sad.. :-/

Winning line or should I say winning scene because it was raining and the last few minutes, supposed to be, of Sam (Jennifer Love Hewitt), from Ian (Paul Nicholls) -- "Thanks for being the person who taught me on how to love and be loved.."

On a lighter note, I had a bunch of beautiful flowers again from DM. :) It's our special day once again.. and everyday is a better day because of him...

aren't they beautiful?

Thanks much, sweetie.. you never failed to make me smile.. and not to forget DM's cousin Ana -- thanks, girl! I know you're always there to provide a helping hand whenever DM needs one. ;)

It's bedtime once again. There are some changes with my habits, I now start my day at 9AM.. whew! Major adjustment really.. but it feels good to start each day early and finish work around 5PM? =) Not so me! But I guess things are better this way. And I like it.

Before I finally sign off, I would want to post this li'l note first --> Happy special day, sweetie! :)

Business Planning @ Baguio

Whew! Dead tired from my Baguio business trip. We had a productive business planning and I am really inspired to take off the soonest possible time because I strongly feel I'm in the right track now.

-- Thursday, July 14 --

DM gave me a wake up call at 4:30 AM though I got up from bed around 4:50AM -- what's new? :) Too early.. I was really having a hard time waking up this early. Anyway, I still managed to get to eMVI on time.

0600 -- Assembly Time
0630 -- Off to Baguio
0830 -- Coffee Break @ Starbucks, Luisita Mall, Tarlac
1230 -- Lunch @ Dencio's, Camp John Hay, Baguio
1430 -- Session started
1800 -- End of business planning for the day
2000 -- Dinner
2200 -- Off to bed, wala pa ko tulog

* I miss DM... :-/

-- Friday, July 15 --

I woke up around 7:30AM, business planning session will start at 8:30AM. We were able to finish all the groups' presentations in the morning and then a recap after lunch.

After the recap, I took some nap again -- Baguio is really a conducive place to sleep. :) At 4PM, we went to Good Shepherd to buy pasalubong and then supposed to be gala afterwards but it was really raining hard that time and it was freakin' cold so we ended up buying pasalubong na lang and went home afterwards.

I just had a jamming session with Raysor, the guitar man, the whole rainy afternoon. :) And then, the whole group went to House of Waffles (originally, Country Waffles) at Camp John Hay for dinner. Of course out-of-town business plannings wouldn't be complete without a beer-flooding party during the last night of stay, and so.. it was really an all-night-long-tequila-vodka-san mig lite-rockin' party that Friday night.. Well, they deserve it after all the hard work and the outstanding results. And it was really wacko!

Downside is -- I really miss my DM.. Today is the first day this year that we haven't seen each other.. :-/ :-/ :-/ Anyway, we've exchanged lotsa phone calls and text messages.. and that's the most that we can do for now.

-- Saturday, July 16 --

I woke up around 9AM, party ended around 3AM.. and thanks to EJ again for being the source of all the energy I consumed during the party, last woman in the house standing! harharhar

We went to Mine's View and the public market to buy pasalubongs again and had a late lunch at Camp John Hay Manor before we finally headed back to Manila.

Yipeeee! DM fetched me at eMVI and had some quality time again -- Countryside dinner! ;)

~~~ At long last, I'll be sleeping again in my bed ~~~
First Day
Ok, this is what I was referring to when I posted "On Decision Making". Yep, I finally made a decision on where to work -- hopefully for good. :) And today is my first day.
I was supposed to report for work next week but the annual business planning will be tomorrow, Thursday to Saturday, Baguio City, and I need to join the planning for me to clearly understand the company's business. Oraaaaayt! Business and fun combined! :)
Anyway, my first day is quite the same with my previous first days at work except that the people at the office were so busy and I guess excited with the planning tomorrow so "panic mode" is in the air. :)
I attended mass with DM and went to shopwise for some toiletries for my Baguio trip. I just hope everything will be ok tomorrow up to Saturday, I guess I won't be having a hard time blending with my new office pals, all young and aggresive.
Got to rest now, I still have to pack my things..
Vivere
Vivere @ The Richville Regency Suites, Alabang -- a terrific place to dine and wine.. though I didn't have wine on the past two visits, just fruit shakes and nachos.. ;)
heavenly!
I was with DM and his cousins Ate Maggie, Ana, and Valerie plus Mikko, Ate Maggie's unico hijo a while ago at Vivere after our as-if-we're-not-gonna-eat-anymore dinner at Saisaki, Festival Mall. I just had shakes and nachos, as usual. I was so full that I just can't eat anymore! :)
I had a great time once again with DM and his family. Raphael was really hilarious! Where on earth can I buy an exact replica of this kid? :)
Yesterday and Today
-- Friday, July 8 --
1. On work -- product presentation for a bank. Presentation went well and it really got me exhausted.
2. On soon-to-be-work (duh?) -- got a call from YS, during the product presentation -- sorry, I'm gonna use codes and initials for the meantime, will reveal as soon as everything's settled -- oh no, not again! ahihihi
3. On DM -- quality time. Yey, it's Friday! :)
-- Saturday, July 9 --
1. On family -- I've been a good sister today, self-proclaimed. Driving lessons for free for my brother, Harree. :) Of course, with DM's assistance -- thanks for buying us buko juice and the-ever-famous-UP-fishballs!
2. Vanity -- DM had a haircut and I had my nails done. Oh yeah, we even go to salons together. ;)
3. Spiritual side -- video recording for church' Single's organization -- the celebrity in me (whoah!)
4. Health -- on DM again -- great badminton game, sweetie! What a sweaty yet healthy Saturday night! And of course, the post-badminton-break at Riverbank.. priceless! :)
With all these, I therefore conclude that.. my life is in balance! Yipee for that! Hmmm.. did I make sense there? :)
Anyway, my milk's done.. bedtime! G'nyt peeps!
Mushy Mood
I'm feeling a bit romantic at this very moment so I decided to share with you some of my fave movie kilig quotes...
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."
-- Annie
"If I tell you I love you, can I keep you forever?"
-- Casper
"There are only four questions of value in life.
What is sacred?
Of what is the spirit made of?
What is worth living for?
What is worth dying for?
The answer to each is the same. Only love."
-- Don Juan De Marco
"It doesn't matter if the guy is perfect or the girl is perfect, as long as they are perfect for each other."
-- Good Will Hunting
"I am someone else when I'm with you, someone more like myself."
-- Original Sin
"When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible."
-- When Harry Met Sally
There you go.. Maybe I'm just overdosed with sweets today.. :)
Nytee nyt, guys!
Virtual Office
It feels so comfy to stay at home.. but I need to work.. And I'm just human, I get lazy at times -- or most of the time? :) Especially with the weather now.. really tempting to go back to bed and sleep the whole day or watch DVD's.. But don't get me wrong guys, what I meant by "lazy" was I don't wanna go out of the house to drive and get stuck in a traffic jam because of the rain and floods and when rush hour strikes?!? Oh no!!! Ooops, sorry I got carried away.. Anyway, bottomline is, I would still wanna work..
So here I am, online.. working.. at home! :)
And I really love it! Yun lang.
On Decision Making
Everyday of our lives, we make decisions. We may not be aware at times that we're making decisions because we never noticed the effects brought about by these "little" decisions we make. But still, whether decisions are big or small, they make impact in our lives. Decisions are choices and therefore one must think and analyse before making one. Decisions form our goals or better yet, attain them.
I'm feeling a bit uneasy since last night.. I have a lot of thinking to do for the next few days or maybe weeks... Though I hope this won't take me a month to overcome..
And I know, one of these days, I need to make a decision.. again. Right or not-so-right, I wouldn't know unless I'll put it into action. Whatever the consequence or consequences my decision might lead to, as always, will serve as a learning experience for me.
Bottomline is, whatever path I choose to take, I know that I'm not alone. Somebody walks and will always walk beside me no matter how long and tough the road may be. And with this thought, I believe that life will always be worth living.. for myself and for my loved ones.
