Kiddie Party and a Xmas Tree

It was a great day for me. I went to a kiddie party, DM's inaanak Miguel to Jay-R and Mylene, also my ex-officemates. I had fun with my ex-MDi family again, big brothers brought along their wives and kids. And it was a very lovely scene -- kids are playing around while moms and dads chatting. :) And as usual, center of kantyawan na naman kami ni DM, because we still don't have a kid to bring along on kiddie parties. We'll get there, ok? :)

By the way, this is the first Christmas tree I've seen this year -- DM's home. And good work done by his mom. It was a tall Christmas tree, even taller than DM. :) Holidays are coming, I can already feel it. It's my second holiday season with DM this year and excitement is getting into my nerves as early as now. :)

Skeleton Key

DVD time once again -- and since it's Halloween, we decided to watch Skeleton Key. It's more of a thriller or suspense or a mystery movie than a horror one. It's not that scary but the credible acting and twist ending did the trick. And I myself was left puzzled after seeing this flick.

We ended up -- DM and I, with conflicting conclusions and quite a long discussion. :)

This may not be an award-winning movie but it was fun. I enjoyed the creeks and some typical horror movie scary sound effects especially when he's with me. :)

Twenty Nine Years

Since today is dad and mom's 29th wedding anniversary, I would want to share a text message from my friend Rizza:

"Love with all your heart and accept the unlovable side of others. For anyone can love a rose but only a great heart can include thorns."

And I believe that my dad and mom had been practicing this for the longest time. Happy anniversary daddy, mommy! And I wish you longer years of love and happiness that you can share with us and your future grandchildren. :)

Sweet Temptation

Oh yes, DM and I are on a diet and we're some sort of health buffs these past few months (though I know it doesn't show hehehe) but how can we resist this choco cake? We're just human. :) And so as humans, we can't resist temptations at times.. or I believe most of the time. Especially on food! ;)

Anyway, for the rating: Mud slice from Gram's Diner at Rockwell -- 4 stars :)

Still Counting

I thought of blogging some of our car pix. We usually take pix when there's traffic (even when there's no traffic ;P) or if his or my vanity spirit knocks -- which most of the time happens! And so as of this post, we have more than a hundred inside-the-car-pix and still counting. :)

It's our special day once again and sad to say, we didn't have the chance to be together even for dinner. We were quite busy the whole day and I had dinner with some clients after work. :-/

Oh well, at least we had the chance to share the last few minutes of the day together and ok na yun. What's important is we know we're both happy with what we have and we're looking forward for more happy days together.
Happy special day, sweetie! I'll make it up to you next time. :)

Welcome Home, Bro!

My brother Deng was confined at Medical City for 2 1/2 days due to gastritis. At least he enjoyed his stay at the hospital because Ruffa Mae Quinto is just a room away from his room. :) This brother of mine really looks well before that Monday morning when my Dad saw him throwing up in his room -- yes, in his room! He wasn't even able to go to the rest room. :-/ We were all wondering and made a lot of guesses already on what's gotten into him because he was in his usual self the night before he was brought to the hospital. Anyway what's important is he's ok now and he's back! Welcome home, Deng! :)

Talking about brothers -- A few hours ago, I watched my 'MDi big brothers' including DM, play basketball. It was a practice game for their forthcoming sportsfest. Care for a comment, boys? You guys have a lot of catching up to do, hehehe, kiddin'! That's why there are practice games -- ei, we do practice not because we're not good but because we can still do better. ;) Well I would say MDi boys, not to focus on age brackets, are still fit enough to compete with 20+ year-old boys when it comes to basketball. :D

Way to go, guys! I'll bring my magic pompoms next time! ;)

Season 3

Done with Smallville Season 3. And the story gets more interesting. Well there were some flaws but the cast surely covered up.

For the first two seasons, Clark Kent discovered and experimented his newly found super powers and week after week saved his friends -- Clark's friends are like cats, all of them have nine lives or more. :) With the opening of the third season, it was Clark that needed some rescue (I hate him when he's wearing that red kryptonite college ring), a nice little twist of events to keep the series more exciting.

Sad na ko, in this season, the darker side of Lex begins to appear, pero wawa pa din sya as the son of Lionel -- btw John Glover, Lionel Luthor, at his age -- around 50's(?), has still a defined body (hahaha I just noticed when he was being treated in the hospital and was half naked). Anyway, after Lex stayed in a mental institution due to a psychotic break, he emerged more determined than ever to supplant his father as head of LuthorCorp.

The friendship between Clark and Lex begins to show signs of stress. This is a darker season, one that touches on a wider range of human emotions and relationships. Here, Jonathan Kent does what any good father would do, risking everything to save his son. There are lots of clashes also between Lionel and Lex Luthor. Father and son relationships usually move me.

While most television series focus on youth common issues such as sex and drugs, Smallville centers on more typical relationships nurtured in extraordinary circumstances.

Wimbledon

After this movie was shown a year ago, finally I was able to watch it -- on DVD! I remember DM was inviting me to watch this movie with him and his cousins, we're still friends that time, so.. I declined. :) I don't usually go out with a guy, who's not yet a boyfriend ;), when ask to go out with him plus some family members. Chicken out! :)

Well at least, I was still able to watch it with him.. not on big screen though, anyway, nothing beats DVD time with him at the privacy of his home.

Wimbledon is a kilig-oozing-with-grace-and-confidence-feel-good movie. Makes me wanna shift to tennis harharhar! It's just a thought.. I know I won't stop my badminton routine in exchange of tennis, DM's definitely not gonna like that and so our still-growing-in-number-badminton-family. :) Ngayon pa na career na nya ang badminton! hehehe

This movie made my heart beats faster -- both in tennis matches and mushy scenes. I like Wimbledon and I was really entertained. Yung tipong pwede ko ulitin para kiligin. :)

Fire Snake

To my fellow fire snakes, check out our chinese horoscope. And let's all be proud to be a fire snake! -- sorry for the mood, I get weird at times errr most of the time! :D

-----------------------------
FIRE SNAKE Horoscope
Feb 18, 1977 to Feb 6, 1978

Snake people enter a room and there is Music, Music, Joy! Everyone dances! Such high spirit! The Snake is so intense and passionate, just as likely to take out the castanets as to climb mountains of snow. Snake year people are charming and romantic, often planning delightful hideaway surprises. Possessing tremendous wisdom, they are deep, quiet thinkers, calm by nature, but most intense (oh really huh?). They often get involved in great causes, bigger than life, and often serve as mentors to the young. To paraphrase Confucius, they have a kind of inner beauty that arises, hovers, then comes to nest. They will have an abundance of good fortune and a long and prosperous life (Talaga lang ha!).

Sharkfin Soup and Chinese Cabbage are among keys to good health!!

The Fire Snake is like a meteor in the sky, brilliant and alive (Whoah! Top that!). With spellbinding eloquence, the Snake converses with conviction on a broad range of topics, but realizes that good conversation lies as much in the listening as the talking. The Snake does both very well, raising communication to a very high and elegant art (ehem!). People love to be in the company of this very graceful Fire Snake, who is always pleasant, provocative, humorous, and quick witted. With split second reflexes, they are constantly conceiving new ideas and coming up with new schemes. This entrepreneurial spirit makes headlines and the Fire Snake is much admired. Because of their ambition, perseverance, and infinite patience, and wise financial moves made early in life, their fortunes grow steadily. By the time middle age arrives, financial fortune is truly theirs (Grabe! How I wish! :P). Relationships follow the same path, through faithfulness, perseverance, and willingness to make relationships really work, the future is always bright (Yey! Dandandaran! hehehe).

Famous Snake People: Mao Tse-tong, Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Ferdinand Marcos, Abraham Lincoln, Lady Pamela Mountbatten, Martin Luther King, Grace Kelly, Jacqueline Kennedy, Edgar Allen Poe, Prime Minister Tony Blair, Bob Dylan, sHenGGie :)

Bridal Shower

The concept of a bridal shower is to ensure that the bride-to-be is well prepared for her married life. It is held to provide the bride-to-be with gifts to help her set up her new home. However, the bridal shower also provides an opportunity for the bride-to-be's women friends to provide her a sense of support as she enters into this new phase of her life.
And so we, the married and single women of eMVI prepared a shower for Flor, she's gonna get married to Rommel, also from eMVI, on Friday, Oct 7.

And as usual, the bride-to-be was showered with lotsa naughty stuff -- scented candles, feminine wash (fresher feeling all day and night ;P), breath freshener, tissue (what for? hehehe), audio cd's, to set the mood :), thongs, whip cream (whoah!), shawl (pang-seduce ba ito?) and lastly, slippers with feather straps, hmmm... After the kalandian's :) came the serious part and I would say the essence of a bridal shower -- to prepare the bride-to-be for a married life -- the words of wisdom / advices from our happily and not so happily-married women of eMVI. And of course, singles have their own advices to share too.

It was a very inspiring event. We all left with smiles in our faces.

Busy Day

I had a very busy Sunday. My usual Sunday routine would only consist of mass, dvd or badminton with DM. This Sunday, I would say is one of the most tiring -- I went to mass with DM and my brothers at our temple in Quezon City in the morning then I got to finish 4 episodes of Smallville Season 3, episodes 9-12, I started last Thursday, then Saturday and today, DVD marathon is already included in my system. Afterwards, I went shopping at Greenhills, yoohoo! And of course, I wouldn't miss some quality time with DM after he got tired of assisting me with my shopping bags, daddy-ish! :)

It was a tiring and yet super fun day! Though I love shopping the most, harharhar! I was able to buy a lotta personal stuff in a very minimal(?) once-in-a-while-splurge-budget -- I got 2 belts, 2 baby tees, 2 skirts, a dri-fit badminton shirt, a long sleeves for work, an ethnic necklace and a kikay-glittery-flat-slippers to match the skirts I bought. Whew! And to think, I got 'em all for just.. a very practical, justifiable (self-justification) cost! :) If I computed it right, I save almost 15% of the total amount, thanks to my tawad skills, though I still won't match even a quarter of my mom's tawad capabilities. :)

Quota na ko for the month, yoko na muna punta Greenhills! Take note, "muna". :)

Self-treat

Got a haircut! And I love it, worth the wait, thanks to DM. :) I haven't had a haircut (except for minor cuts like trim, bangs and a few layers) for years now. More than 3 inches was cut, I also had my hair dyed to plain brown (no other hints like red or copper) plus a pedicure on the side. ;)

I deserve a treat at times. And that's what I did.
